No Longer Perfect – Our Legacy of Sin
Adam’s and the woman’s souls have now been stamped with Satan’s DNA for all time. Just like Satan, they are no longer perfect and sinless in the sight of God. As a consequence, they brought upon themselves and the whole human race the penalty for sin, which is spiritual and physical separation from God. Since Adam and Eve’s fall, every person is born with a sinful nature and becomes a sinner in thought, word, and deed. In Romans, chapter 3, verse 23, God’s Word tells us
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (NIV)
God is disappointed because sin has now separated His great creation from Him and the everlasting love which He has for them. But, God will not be deterred by the vile crime Satan has just committed. God immediately begins to execute His eternal plan, which involves the redemption of man from the curse of sin and death.
In our next lesson we will look at the consequences of Adam and Eve’s sin and what it has done to each of us. We will take a simple, common sense look at what the depravity of man and woman really means. You will finally complete the borders of your life’s puzzle, and begin to make sense of the pieces that are left.
