In my last series, “Who Am I Really?”, I discussed how we are God’s greatest creation and are very, very special to Him. In fact, we are so special to Him, we are the only creation He made with His own hands and in His own image; He gave us a body, soul, and spirit just like His angels.
God already has so many wonderful plans for our lives. He loves us so much that He thinks about us all the time. We read in Psalm 139:17-18 that the number of times God thinks about us outnumbers all of the grains of sand on earth.
Our life’s adversary is Satan, and sin was born when his pride caused him to fall from God’s grace. Because of their rebellion, Satan and a third of the angels who followed him were thrown out of Heaven and down to earth by God. Satan, the prince of the darkness (Ephesians 6:12), set up his kingdom on earth and became the ruler of the world we live in (John 14:30). Satan’s world is a world full of deceit, lies, temptations, accusations, and rebellion. Sound familiar?
Our lives were changed for all eternity when our original parents, Adam and Eve, went from perfection to imperfection by believing Satan’s lies. Sin became part of everyone with the simple bite of an apple. This sin separated us from God, our Heavenly Father, the one who created us and loves us.
God’s Word tells us that sin has entered every one of us (Romans 3:23). Being infected with Satan’s DNA means that we possess all of his evil characteristics (Galatians 5:19-21, Matthew 15:18-19, Jeremiah 17:9). Because of this, we are perfectly suited to live in Satan’s world here on earth and for all eternity in Hell.
But the love and grace of God in the form of His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, came to earth to save us (John 3:16-17) and tear down the wall of separation created by Satan’s sin. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the sacrificial price by shedding His blood for our sins so that we all could rejoin our Loving Father (Romans 5:6-11).
Through the Word of God it is very simple to have our sins forgiven and be reconciled with our Heavenly Father (Romans 10:9-13, Ephesians 2:8-9). If you have asked Jesus to forgive your sins and have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, the Apostle Paul tells us that you are now a new person (2 Corinthians 5:17). And more than 3,000 promises from God in the Bible are now unlocked for you. You have been given something that an unsaved person can never have — God’s Holy Spirit living in you (1 John 2:27, Galatians 5:22-23, 2 Timothy 1:7).
Until next month, my friend, may His mercy, peace and love be multiplied to you.
