Common Sense Ministries encourages our users to utilize the comment areas within studies to further discuss the content of that particular study. We believe that there are many people out there that have questions and we want to be sure that those questions get answered. Within our community, there are many users who have a basic understanding of the bible and can answer questions in a simple and common sense approach. With that in mind, we have several guidelines in place to make sure the comment areas stay a particularly useful tool for everyone.
I. Be civil
Keep CSM an enjoyable place to be. Stay away from tearing other people down and don’t engage in personal or ideological attacks.
II. Use the Bible
Since we are trying to explain the Bible to those who may find religion confusing, please use verses to back up your points on the discussion. Please include the book, chapter and verse (ex. John 3:16 or 2 Cor 7:15) if you make a point. We understand the Bible doesn’t have a clear verse for everything that may come up but if you do reference the Bible or God as your authority in a comment, back it up. Use only the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament. We take 2 Timothy 3:16 seriously and believe that the Old and New Testament are the complete and without error.
III. Be yourself
Do not use any psuedonems or fake profiles. Whenever possible, we encourage you to login with your Facebook or Twitter profiles to make comments. This enables a true identification and also allows those who have questions to continue the discussion offline, if you both choose. Using fake aliases to attack people will not be permitted.
